Hey Gang! A customer brought something to my attention this week that I wanted to share with you.
Beachbody sends all of us terrific newsletters with info about the newest programs and products. If you click on a product in the newsletter, however, you do not go to your own personal store. You, instead, are taken to the beachbody.com website. I had wrongly assumed we were taken to our personal store.
If you order directly from the beachbody.com website instead of your personal store, you are charged 2-3x the shipping rate (depends on product) than from your personal store, I do not receive credit for the order, and I cannot track your order if there are any problems or help with customer service issues.
Please be sure to only order from your store by logging into your Beachbody account and click "store" on the left side of the page. If you haven't signed up yet, go to http://www.exercise2day.com and complete the process. It only takes a few minutes to do and once it is completed, you will have access to some very cool tools, tips and WOWY.

Abs in No Time
By Kathy Smith
Anytime you're seated is an opportunity to strengthen your core. Instead of slouching and relaxing into a "C" shape, imagine there's a thin coat of paint covering the back of your chair. In order to steer clear of the paint, think about positioning yourself on top of your sit bones—this is your foundation. From there, stack your vertebrae on top of your foundation, keeping the natural "S" curve of your spine as you pull your belly button in toward your spine. Try this: Inhale, then slowly exhale all the air out of your lungs. As you exhale, hold in your abdominals. Repeat 3 to 5 times.

Triderma works for me!

A few weeks back I decided to try TriDerma® Sensitive Skin-Facial Redness Repair™ creme. I was a little skeptical because I happen to have several broken capillaries around my nose and also a broken blood vessel under my left eye. The directions indicate that it should be used daily, which I did. I noticed that even though the broken blood vessel did not entirely disappear, it did reduce the size of it. The broken capillaries around my nose also shrunk when I used this product. As an added bonus, I had several patches of dry skin that I could not get rid of without the use of a prescribed lotion are now gone. I'm very happy to have tried this product out and would recommend it to folks that have blemishes, redness, Rosacea, etc.

No-Trick Granola Treats

Canola oil cooking spray
2 cups granola, nonfat, sugar-free
1 cup whole-grain cereal (flakes)
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1-1/2 Tbsp. butter, unsalted
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds, roasted, unsalted
1/2 cup raisins
Remember, this is a "once-in-a-while" indulgence . . .
Coat a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray. Line pan with wax paper and let the edges hang over the sides of pan. Spray a thin coating of cooking spray on the wax paper. Coat a wooden mixing spatula or spoon with cooking spray for later use.
In a large saucepan, heat marshmallows and butter on medium heat until they are melted (about 3 minutes), stirring constantly. Take saucepan off heat. Use the coated spatula to mix the granola, cereal flakes, seeds, and raisins into the mixture. Scoop the mixture into the prepared pan, and then smooth and press mixture into an even layer with your hands (for best results, dampen your hands or spray them lightly with the cooking spray). Allow baking dish to cool. When cooled, turn baking dish over on a cutting board and pull the wax paper off. Cut cooled mixture into small squares. Makes 12 servings.

Spousal Support
Spousal Support
By Chalene Johnson
Married 10 years, I know firsthand the importance of a supportive spouse. Even if your partner's healthy resolve leaves much to be desired, with the right approach you can find the support you need and improve your partnership in the process. Consider variations on these five phrases when cultivating the interpersonal support you need to reach your health and fitness goals and bring you closer in the process:
1. "I couldn't do this without you!" Let your partner know how important their help and support is to you. Everyone wants to feel needed.
2. "Want to work out with me?" Even if the likelihood of it happening is slim, frequently invite your partner to join you. Let him or her to pick the workout and you might just get a 'yes'.
3. "Thank you!" Express your appreciation for even the smallest gesture that helps you reach your goal, even if it's just keeping the kids busy so you can Push Play.
4. "Wanna get busy?" Even if your partner doesn't share your healthy resolve, you both profit from your commitment. Communicate the mutual benefits of fitness, including improved energy, a boost in self-esteem, a tighter body, better health, and yes, better sex!
5. "Let's make a deal." Don't expect your partner to abruptly change his/her dining habits because you do. No one likes to be forced into doing something. Make a deal. Offer to do something nice in exchange for his/her promise to "eat in" for the next 10 days.

Happy Earth Day!
Today is a day that celebrates the modern environmental movement and it's called Earth Day. I have been celebrating it ever since I had picked the topic for one of my 4-H public speaking projects when I was an early teen. It's been an interest and we have been changing things in my household when ever possible.
Going "green" has become a hot topic for a lot of folks. There are so many things that you can do around your own home or office to help conserve water or energy, recycle or dispose of items properly. Not only does this protect the environment but it saves you money. If you are looking for ways to incorporate some earth day everyday, please visit www.earthday.gov for helpful tips and projects that you can do with your family.

Beachbody® Advice Staff: 8 Most Asked Questions
By Denis Faye
"How do I get past this plateau?" "Why do I have to do yoga?" "How on earth can the sweet, orangey goodness of P90X® Results and Recovery Formula be good for you?" As an Advice Staff member on the Beachbody Message Boards, these are the kinds of questions I've fielded almost every day for the last 6 years. In that time, I've answered over 23,000 posts on the Nutrition or Fitness forums. There's no longer much that throws me, with the exception of one question: "Is it possible that I'm allergic to water?" But besides that one, the questions online tend to be fairly routine. They're good questions, mind you, but let me put it this way, you're not the only one around wondering when his or her six-pack abs are going to show up.
So, for your amusement and, hopefully, your education, here are the top eight questions I get asked on the boards.
1. "I'm eating at a large calorie deficit and exercising really hard, yet the scale isn't moving. What gives?"
Plateau, huh? Ninety-nine percent of the time, it's one of two things. If you're not dropping pounds yet your inches are changing for the positive, odds are you are actually losing fat but also gaining muscle. That's what's balancing out the scale.
I know it's a frustrating situation, but if you've been looking in the mirror or putting on clothes, you've probably noticed that you're looking better and your clothes are fitting looser, so it's not all bad.
When this happens, I've found that approximately week 6 is the magic time when the scale starts moving, so hang in there, tiger!
The other probable cause is that you're undereating, which can force your body into starvation mode.
Back in the days when folks hunted and gathered, there were no 7-Elevens. Because of this, people sometimes had to go for days with little or no food. According to Darwin, people who survived these times of famine were the people who, well, survived these times of famine. And in order to do this, their bodies adapted by slowing down their metabolisms and holding onto emergency fuel supplies (aka "fat") during lean times. This is starvation mode.
Almost every time I tell someone to eat more to knock out a plateau, I get an argument because people who've lost weight by eating less have trouble adjusting their mindsets. But as your body composition changes, you have to eat to support it. If I can finally turn them around, the scale almost always starts moving again.
2."What's the deal with Recovery Formula?"
P90X Results and Recovery Formula is a four-parts-carbohydrates-to-one-part-protein powder that speeds muscle recovery.
When you exercise anaerobically (weight training, the high end of intervals, etc.), you burn blood sugar and glycogen. If you give it your all for about an hour, you'll probably deplete both of those resources. The carbs in Recovery Formula rush in to replenish that blood sugar and glycogen. Meanwhile, the protein piggybacks in, getting to muscles for a head start on resynthesis.
This 4:1 recovery drink model was conceived by John Ivy and Robert Portman in a landmark study you can read in the book Nutrient Timing: The Future of Sports Nutrition.
That's my main answer to this query, but there are sometimes subtle variations on the question. Let's address a few of those here.
First off, the carb-protein balance should be between 3:1 and 5:1 to work optimally. If you take in more protein than that or you add fat or fiber, it slows the absorption of the carbohydrates and you miss the post-workout window of about 1 hour during which nutrients are absorbed readily.
Secondly, while Recovery Formula primarily works for strength workouts, there's an anaerobic component to most of our "aerobic," or cardio, workouts, which you know if you've done P90X's "Plyometrics" workout.
Because not every workout is going to hammer you, you should decide how much Recovery Formula you need on a sliding scale. If you're so wasted that you're having difficulty moving the muscle groups you just worked, then a full serving of Recovery Formula is called for. If you feel a little shaky but not trashed, you probably have a little glycogen left over, so drink half a serving.
Another factor in deciding how you use Recovery Formula is how much blood sugar you began your workout with. If your diet is very lean, you may be tapped to begin with, so sipping a little during your workout would be hugely beneficial. There's no hard and fast rule. If you feel perfectly good post-workout, you likely didn't train hard enough for Recovery Formula. It's really up to you to gauge how you feel, and use some common sense.
Finally, Recovery Formula is specially designed for maximum absorption, and it has a lot of extra goodies in it. But if you're getting fit on the cheap, you can make your own recovery drink with apples or grape juice (the acids in orange juice mess with the absorption process, so don't use that) and a couple tablespoons of vanilla protein powder.
And no, it doesn't taste weird. It tastes like a fruit juice float.
Oh, and Beachbody's Meal Replacement Shake is also a decent replacement.
3. "Why do I have to do yoga?"
When a form of exercise has had over 3,000 years to evolve, it tends to be highly effective. It increases strength, balance, and flexibility in a way that no other exercise can. A lot of people write in to ask if they can replace it with stretching, but it's just not the same thing. Stretching does little, if anything, for strength and balance.
I know yoga can be hard, but if you stick it out, it'll pay off. If you don't believe me, here's what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar told Time magazine about the longevity of his basketball career: "My friends and teammates think I made a deal with the devil. But it was yoga that made my training complete. There is no way I could have played as long as I did without yoga."
4. "How long can I do the high-protein first phase of the P90X nutrition plan?"
For most of us, not very long. It's slated to go a month, but most of you won't go past week 2, and some won't make it a week. This phase is designed to teach you how to identify how carbs work with your body for energy and to more efficiently use your body's fat stores. Sounds cool, but if you do it too long, you'll hinder your progress, because when you follow a high-protein diet, you're denying yourself the carbohydrates to do P90X workouts effectively.
The body does use body fat for energy during some activities, such as cardio, but only to a degree. When you deny yourself the carbohydrates it needs and then push beyond the capacity of fat mobilization for energy, your body activates a process called ketosis, which burns additional body fat for use as fuel for the muscles and brain. When ketosis fails, your body will enter a carb-depleted state called "the bonk," and you won't be able to exercise effectively.
Continued ketosis wears on your kidneys and can lead to kidney disease. Obese and out-of-shape people may be able to follow a high-protein diet for a while because they have plenty of fat reserves and, frankly, they aren't yet capable of exercising at a high level. But still, 6 weeks is about as long as anyone should be able to stay in phase one.
How do you know where you fall? If you add some carbs and instantly feel better, you'll know it's time for a change. If you add too many carbs, you will start to feel sluggish, which is the lesson phase one is designed to teach.
5. "I've injured myself. Should I just work through the pain?"
Never, ever work through injury pain. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's muscle pain or an injury, but if you're hurt, stop. And if you're unsure, err on the cautious side. If you can do other workouts that don't affect the injury, fine, but rest the injury and ice it every day to help with swelling. If it clears up in a week, resume exercising, but make a point of warming up the injured area a little longer before working out and stretch the area as often as you can, particularly post-workout. Stretching an injury helps prevent scar tissue from forming on the muscles. If it doesn't clear up, you can try more rest or get to a doctor or a physical therapist ASAP.
If you take care of it, it'll most likely heal. If not, it will probably become chronic, which means you could be stuck with it for life.
6. "Why don't I have six-pack abs yet?"
You very well may already have a washboard stomach, but that last bit of chub is covering it. Unfortunately, you can't spot burn fat. We all have our problem areas—the last places fat wants to leave. Typically, for guys, it's the gut, and for the ladies, it's the hips.
So basically, all you can do is keep at it. Eat right and work hard, and eventually, you'll get those abs. Keep in mind that your body will be super resistant to lose the last of its emergency fuel supply, so you're going to have to work with a pretty small calorie deficit, or you might go into starvation mode. (See question one.)
7. "My breasts are getting smaller as I lose weight. How can I stop this?"
Breasts are mainly fat. Unlike hips, they often seem to be the first thing to go on women. It's kind of a bummer, but seriously, the rest of you is thinning out too, and you're going to look much hotter in a bikini with or without your current cup size.
And, for the record, I don't get this question all that much, but it's a real crowd-pleaser, so I thought I'd throw it in the mix.
8. "Why can't I eat less on P90X?"
Because P90X isn't a weight loss program. Yes, burning fat is a primary component of the program, but it's only part of the plan.
P90X is designed for people with some degree of fitness. Our other programs, such as Power 90® and Slim in 6®, are designed for people who are less fit. Out-of-shape people generally can't spend a long time working out above their anaerobic threshold, and therefore, they don't burn fat for fuel efficiently. Training while eating fewer calories can help improve this.
Typically, as these people work their way up the Beachbody fitness ranks, they need to up their calories to continue to get results. They need to support their increased metabolisms, and they need the fuel to repair their muscles after the more intense workouts. Otherwise, they risk getting injured or getting a chronic illness.
Assuming you can do P90X, you should already be in this higher fitness range.
Of course, this can be different for everyone, so it's up to you to experiment and find a calorie range that's right for you. Just don't undereat. If you overeat slightly, your fitness will eventually catch up with your nutrition. But if you undereat and ignore your body's warning signs, then you will break down sooner or later.

I CAN!
Sometimes when we exercise, we need a little insperation to keep us moving. I hope that you enjoy this poem
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't
It's almost a "cinch" you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost.
For out in the world you find
Success begins with a fellow's will,
It's all in the state of mind.
For many a race is lost
Before even a step is run,
And many a coward fails
Before even his work begun,
Think big and your deed's will grow,
Think small and you'll fall behind,
Think you can, and will,
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you're outclasses, you are.
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You ever can win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

Spring is here!

Years ago, I was sent this and thought it was a real hoot. I don't know who wrote it and I can't give them proper credit but do want to say Thank You!
Spring is here......that time of year again ...
Alright ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below...
The Open Toed Shoe Pledge
As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:
I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.
I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.
I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.
I will shave the hairs off my big toe.
I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.
If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back! into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.
I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.
I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.
I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.
I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes (or toenails) are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.
I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.
I will promise to go to my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $20 or $25 and worth EVERY penny).
I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

Yoga for your wrists
Do you have a job that required you to spend a lot of time at the computer? Here is one way to strengthen your wrists.
1. Sit up straight in your chair.
2. Hold your arms straight out in front of you.
3. Turn your palm down to face the floor, fingers stretched out straight. Your arms should be parallel to the floor.
4. Inhale as you lift your fingers up, bending from the wrists so that your palms face away from you like you were hand-signaling an oncoming truck to stop.
5. Feel that stretch? That's a good thing. Just go easy, don't turn a stretch into a strain.
6. Exhale as you lower your palms again, continuing until your fingers are pointing at the floor. Your arms should stay in the same position, just bend from the wrist. You should feel a nice stretch in your forearm.
7. Repeat several times.

What's your why?
Saturday night, as I was doing my workout, I was thinking about my why. Why am I doing all of this? Why is it important? Why does anyone care what I do or post about? I decided to share all of this with you.
First of all, why am I doing all of this? I am doing this for me. I was never one to be physically active. I could have cared less about it for so many years but the time has come where my body has changed and if I want to do certain things, I need to feel good. Also, body parts are sagging and dimples are hanging around in than more than one cheek...lol. I don't want to always have to wear pants because I feel like my body is in such poor condition that my legs can't be shown. I also hate the way my belly looks when I'm sitting down. It looks like a pillow. And more importantly than my appearance, I need to keep moving so that my Rheumatoid Arthritis won't defeat me. To me, my job as an Independent Beachbody Coach has rewarded me in so many ways. I've found that it enables me to be accountable for my actions. Before Beachbody, I was in a downward spiral and my life has changed in so many positive ways. I truly enjoy helping people achieve their goals and working with them.
Second, why is it important? It's important that I am doing this not only for me but for my family. My girls need me. And I want to make sure that I am around and as capable of doing things with them as long as I can. I also think that it is important to show folks that you can do this at any age or weight and that there are so many variations of exercise that there is something for everyone out there. So many people have changed their lives thanks to following a healthy lifestyle and if I can help just one through my efforts, it is worth all of the time and money I've spent!
Lastly, Why does anyone care what I do or post about? I'm sure there are lots of folks who could care less about me, my postings or anything that I do but this blog and my business as a coach. But I also think that there are people out there that need someone to help them. Maybe they can't get the support elsewhere and that is where I come in. I support you in every step of your journey! Throughout good times and bad, I work with you. I want to be able to show people that there are wonderful, entertaining and successful programs for them to work out with. I want to show them that if you eat right, the weight will come off. I want to be able to show folks that I do know that weight can be a struggle to get off sometimes but I'll help them reach their next milestone. If that isn't something that enlightens someone than so be it.
So, there you have it. A few of my whys answered. Tell me what your why is. If you or someone you know is in need of support, I would be honored to help. Contact me today for more information.

Shakeology: The Healthiest Meal of the Day Facts
Have questions about Shakeology? Your answers may be here. This is a fact she that Beachbody has given to me to forward to those interested in the product.
Should I continue to take Activit® or other multivitamins along with Shakeology?
Because of the way Shakeology is formulated, one shake pretty much covers your body's normal daily requirement for vitamins and minerals. However, if you're following a recommended exercise routine, your body is likely using up those nutrients at a faster rate. For example, if you're doing P90X® or ChaLEAN Extreme®, hard-charging routines that burn more calories along with vitamins and minerals, you may need some additional supplementation—like Activit. Due to the digestive enzymes in Shakeology, taking Activit at the same time you drink Shakeology will help your body to better absorb all the nutrients.
Can I take Shakeology and P90X Peak Health Formula?
If you are using P90X Peak Health Formula, then only 1 serving/scoop of Shakeology is recommended per day. If you are taking any other supplements in addition to Shakeology and P90X Peak Health Formula, then watch your total intake to ensure you do not exceed Tolerable Upper Intake Levels for copper, magnesium, manganese, and zinc. The Tolerable Upper Intake Level for Copper is 10mg/day, for Magnesium 350 mg/day, for Manganese 11 mg/day, and for Zinc 40mg/day.
I already have some Meal Replacement Shake. Should I throw it out and switch to Shakeology?
You don't have to throw it out. Meal Replacement Shake is a high-quality protein shake. Shakeology offers a wide array of nutrients on top of protein. Because Meal Replacement Shake has higher sugar content and less fiber, a good time to use it is around the time you are exercising (Results and Recovery is also good for this purpose). Shakeology is a better option for a meal that's at least 2 hours before a workout or 1 hour afterwards.
Can I take this and the Results and Recovery Formula?
Yes, but not together! Results and Recovery Formula should only be taken during or after exercise when you've been exhausting your body's blood sugar. At any other time, Shakeology would be your preferred option.
Should I still take an omega supplement?
While the flax seed and Chia seeds in Shakeology provide some omega-3 fatty acids, it is still recommended you take the Core Omega-3™ supplement to meet your daily requirement.
How about Core Cal/Mag?
The recommended daily allowance of calcium is 1,200 mg for women and 1,500 mg/day for post-menopausal women. Shakeology provides 500 mg of calcium, so it is recommended to supplement with Core Cal-Mag™ to meet the daily recommended allowance. Due to the digestive enzymes in Shakeology, taking Core Cal-Mag at the same time you drink Shakeology will help your body to better absorb the nutrients.
Does this mean I won't have to eat veggies anymore?
Unfortunately, no. Fresh fruits and vegetables will always be important for a healthy, balanced diet. Shakeology can help you fill in the nutritional gaps that occur when you're too busy to eat the right balance of fruits and veggies. Plus, it's much easier to tuck Shakeology into a purse or backpack than a head of lettuce!
Is it OK to drink more than one shake per day? Or to replace more than one meal per day?
Yes, but it is not recommended to replace more than 2 meals per day.
There is no food coloring. How is one mix green and the other brown?
The ingredients (herbal powders, grass powders, vegetable powders, Spirulina, Chlorella, plus some of the fruit and berry powders) make the color green. The base of chocolate blend is also green, but the chocolate and cocoa powders turn the color "chocolate."
Why does the Chocolate flavor have more protein?
The serving size for Chocolate is 8 grams higher than for Greenberry. The extra ingredients added for the chocolate blend (mostly chocolate powder and cocoa powder) add an additional 2 grams of protein to the serving size.
With what kind of protein is it made?
The primary source of protein is from whey, which comes from milk. Whey is one of the most bioavailable protein sources. Translation: it rapidly gets to work on repairing your muscles, and the amino acids are easily absorbed and used by your body.
Are the milk sources of protein antibiotic-free?
Yes, the whey protein used in Shakeology is free of antibiotics.
Is it a good source of fiber?
At 3 grams per 140 calories, Shakeology is a balanced source of fiber. More importantly, its fiber sources are varied, coming from apple pectin, flax, Chia meal, and Yacon. Yacon also happens to be one of the best prebiotic sources known to man.
Can I drink this right before a workout?
Shakeology would be a better option than a full meal prior to working out. However, if it's immediately before a workout, you'd be better served by something with more sugar and less fiber for rapid absorption, such as the Results and Recovery Formula or Meal Replacement Shake.
Can I drink this right after a workout?
Again, it's better than many other options available but less perfect than something designed primarily for this purpose, such as the Results and Recovery Formula.
Does it contain caffeine?
Shakeology contains no caffeine. It does contain green tea extract, but the caffeine has been removed.
Is Shakeology vegetarian?
Yes. In fact, the only non-vegan ingredient is whey protein, which comes from milk.
Are all of the ingredients organic?
With the complexity of sourcing over 70 ingredients from all over the world, it was not possible to certify all the ingredients as organic. However, they have been carefully selected and processed under strict controls to retain the highest density of nutrients possible.
Shakeology mentions "whole-food ingredients"—what does this mean? How can it be possible when it's ground to a powder?
Shakeology uses several whole-food sources of nutrients rather than using only synthetic extracts or isolates (like some multivitamin pills). The benefit of whole-food-derived ingredients is that the nutrients are preserved as close to their natural state as possible and are therefore delivered to your body in the most holistic way possible. Your body will better absorb and more efficiently use the nutrients from whole-food sources. The process of converting a food from its natural state to a powder, if done incorrectly, can destroy the nutrients in that food. With Shakeology, we ensure the highest levels of nutrients are preserved through strict temperature-controlled drying and processing.
Can I mix this in with food I'm cooking/baking?
Cooking or heating Shakeology would destroy many of the nutrients in Shakeology and upset the nutrient balance. It's highly recommended that you drink it at room temperature or cooler.
Is it safe for people with diabetes?
Because needs vary for each person with diabetes, it is recommended you check with your doctor first. However, since Shakeology is a low-caloric meal replacement with a lower glycemic index than most meals, it should be acceptable for most people with diabetes.
Can I give it to my kids? Is it safe for kids
Because the needs of every child may vary, please check with your pediatrician. However, since Shakeology is a healthy drink with low sugar and a wide variety of nutrients, it is a much healthier option than many other drinks or snacks on the market and should be appropriate for most children over the age of 6. You may want to start out with a smaller serving size until you are sure of the child's tolerance. It is not recommended to be given as a meal replacement for children younger than six years old without first checking with your pediatrician.
What about pregnant women and nursing mothers?
Shakeology should only be taken by pregnant women and nursing mothers under the direction of their physicians.
Is it safe for people with gluten allergies or celiac disease? It says gluten-free on the package, but the label lists wheatgrass and kamut grass as ingredients.
After extensive testing, Shakeology has been found to be 100 percent gluten-free. As such, Shakeology should be an appropriate snack or meal for people suffering from gluten allergies or celiac disease. However, since individual allergies and conditions vary, it is recommended to test a small dose first before proceeding with a full serving.
Does Shakeology interfere with any medication?
While Shakeology has been tested as safe for most people, you should always consult with your physician if you are on any medication (especially heart medication, since Shakeology contains Vitamin K1) or if you have any other unique health conditions.

Master Secrets
Master Secrets
By Tony Horton
What makes Tiger Woods different from you and me? Naturally gifted? Maybe. The guy shot a 48 for nine holes when he was three years old. But then how do you explain child prodigies who fade into "average" adults? Or how did Michael Jordan go from being a junior varsity "flunky" to a superstar? In any endeavor, there are plenty of "naturals," but far fewer "masters." So what sets masters apart from the merely talented?
Simply put, masters work longer and they work harder. Working longer means showing up—which is half the battle. But the other half is how they work.
When masters practice, they are intensely focused. Let me repeat—intensely focused. They’re not chatting away on the cell phone while on the treadmill. Their goal is not just to get the job done, but to get better at doing the job.
The big secret is that mastery is a habit. And habits grow. Just ask a three-pack-a-day smoker.
So I’ll take the person who can master a single push-up over the person who can crank out 10 sloppy ones any day of the week. Because the master of one today will be the master of two tomorrow. Turn that kind of focus into a habit that stretches over years and you’re beginning to see what makes a Tiger Woods . . . and why he was already a master at the ripe old age of three.
