Setbacks happen!

If you saw my post from last week, you already know that I injured my back.  I didn't realize that I had injured it as bad as I did but it put me out of commission for over a week.  Today was the first day that I did any sort of exercise.  I walked 1.5 miles today and I still have lower back pain.  I had hoped to start the Slim in 6 challenge but can't.  It's not that I don't want to but I need to wait until I'm 100% better.  If I start this challenge, I run the risk of an even bigger injury.

I've learned over the last 9 months that setbacks happen.  When they occur, it's all about how you deal with them.  I know that physically I'm limited right now but that I need to continue to focus on my nutrition.  In fact, I need to do a better job at it!  Last week I didn't follow my meal plan at all and it shows.  I decided to hop on the scale this week.  It's been a few weeks since I did and I have a 4 pound gain.  I'm not pleased about that one bit.  That puts me at almost 20 pounds from goal.  So, this week is all about recommitting to better nutrition and trying to get in some form of exercise each day.  It might be a walk, yoga or gentle stretching.  When I reach 100%, I'll start the Slim in 6 Challenge.  I'll be hopefully no more than a week behind you all that are participating but I will get there!

Injuries stink. Trust me. I injured my knee back in APril and just a week ago I started working out hard on it again!

Have a great week and rest so that you can heal!

You sound like you are on the right track. Since you have your injury focus on nutrition and keep exercising easy. Hope to talk to you later today!!

85% of weight loss is what you put in your mouth. I've been injured several times in my weight loss journey and when that happens, I had to be extra careful about what I ate and adding extra veggies & fruit, etc. XXOO

Went to the chiropractor and did the "twist and shout." He said my injury was "interesting" and to take it easy. No lifting and mild walking is okay. Looks like I'm going to be behind a week in my Slim in 6 Challenge. :( Thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayers!!!!
